Topic: Large Event Planning following Las Vegas Massacre

On the evening of October 1st, 2017 gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on a concert crowd in Las Vegas killing 58 and injuring more than 500. This horrific incident has caused law enforcement to re-evaluate their large event security and counter sniping measures. Eben Hall of Tactical Solutions KC will discuss the challenges and considerations law enforcement have in providing security for such events. What has changed for law enforcement since the Las Vegas shooting? What does private security needs to know prior to such events? Eben is currently assisting other law enforcement agencies across the country in securing large event venues.

Eben Hall has been in law enforcement for 25 years and serves as a Sergeant for the Tactical Response Team 2 of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. He has spent the majority of that time teaching tactics, defensive tactics, and firearms to officers from across the country. He has served as a SWAT team leader and draws on years of experience operating in high-risk environments. He is a nationally certified instructor through the National Law Enforcement Training Center in defensive tactics. He leads the Kansas City Metro Tactical Officers Association Sniper Training Section. In this position, he has been responsible for training development for the metro region’s law enforcement sniper community.

Eben holds a Masters Degree in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution from Baker University. Has developed a comprehensive programs that help resolve conflict at all levels within organizations. Drawing from his law enforcement career he is uniquely positioned to handle conflicts from low level to critical incidents. Eben is a veteran of the United State Marine Corp where he served a tour of duty in Desert Storm.
